36LY0345 Glunk

Today was our final day of digging at the Glunk Site (36LY0345).  I had dug the furthest of all the other excavation units, so my goal for the day was to help the other students bring their excavation units to a similar depth as mine.  Additionally, I wanted to begin removing the corner bulks that separated excavation units sixteen/seventeen and seventeen/eighteen.  So, after helping to sift dirt for excavation unit seventeen, I began working on the corner bulk that separated excavation unit sixteen and seventeen.  The weather for today called for rain to begin around one o'clock, so we were only able to dig the historic level (zero to approximately twelve inches) before we had to clean up and head back to campus.
After cleaning up and returning to campus, we began washing the artifacts that we had excavated throughout our season.  We spent about five and a half hours washing artifacts before we decided to call an end to the day.  Tomorrow we will return to the Academic Center to continue and hopefully finish washing the rest of our artifacts.
